I’m so excited to announce my first ever brand partnership! I’m genuinely happy to share my collaboration with @supergoop — a female-driven brand whose products I’ve been using for years. They just launched a baby line that I’ve been testing out and I absolutely love it for many reasons (scroll below). But basically, it’s the cleanest SPF ever and just feels good on my daughter’s skin. And it’s fragrance-free, thank god.
More reasons why I love it - it contains non-nano, 100% mineral actives. Plus, it’s blendable, pediatrician tested, hypoallergenic. and synthetic fragrance + paraben-free. I ESPECIALLY love the #Sunnyscreen sunscreen stick on Arya’s face. It’s lightweight, mess-proof, and feels nourishing. The sunscreen lotion is a little thicker so I would use this more on the limbs :)
As I mentioned this is my first ever #sponsored #ad - and excited to do it for this brand. Not to mention I will cherish these photos forever. Huge thanks to @dharpooja for capturing these.
Living as she does in New York City, Arya pauses & contemplates what to do with all. That. Space. 🤔
It’s been interesting raising a lil munchkin in a big city. You can really miss out on what it means to be a kid. That’s why this weekend was just plain nice. Arya got to run around in grass and see bumblebees and butterflies and attempt to catch fireflies. She even met her first bunny rabbit. Maybe next visit she’ll get her first mosquito bite (but hopefully not!) #itsthelittlethings .

Hey ma, I got ya covered. ☀️ 😆
Happy Father’s Day yesterday to this incredible guy!!! Arya’s so lucky to have you!!
The latest and greatest by my friend and talented photographer @dharpooja 📸 Can’t wait to share more of her work over the next few weeks ☺️

#wcw goes to @stylushmom of @stylushcouture, mama of FOUR and designer of this special ensemble. She’s the sweetest, kindest, most supportive being around - generous with her time and her guidance when it comes to work/family life. Thank you Bijal for all your support over the years and kudus to all that you do!
Huge thanks to my parents for flying in to watch Arya this Memorial Day weekend while Neeraj and I had a mini vacay. I never got a chance to know my grandparents (they lived in India and passed when I was very young) so it’s so important to me that Arya gets to spend time with hers as much as possible. And seeing them interact is priceless. Can’t tell you how much we missed Arya while we were away, but we were comforted knowing she was in the most loving hands in the world. #mdw
On Monday I had to make a really tough decision. I had an amazing acting opportunity in front of me - a new buzzworthy show on a prestige network, with an excellent script, in a fun supporting role, and an executive producer I would LOVE to work with. I was beyond grateful and OVER THE MOON!
But the terms of the offer just did not seem right, considering this project would uproot my family for a portion of every year. It would prevent me from freely pursuing my passion projects due to exclusivity issues, projects I’ve worked so hard to build these last few years. And unfortunately, the offer wasn’t taking into consideration my years of experience as a working actor.
I was torn.
I sought guidance from many trusted advisors and friends, but ultimately the choice was up to me. My mind was trying to convince me I should do it. To get back on set! It’s been a while since I’ve worked in mainstream TV. But my GUT was telling me something wasn’t right. This proposal was challenging my self-worth and all the hard work I’ve put in over the years to get to this point.
Ultimately, after the inner chatter subsided… I realized … my desire to pursue this role was coming from a SCARCITY MINDSET. Which is a big no-no. I had to remind myself that I shouldn’t make decisions based on fear - the fear that many actors have, that “if I don’t do this, I might not have another opportunity like this for a long time.” But the truth of the matter is that I’ve always led with an abundance mindset...and this was just a slip. And that’s okay. Decisions like this are tough, but they are just a wake-up call that we have to bet on ourselves and believe in our worth. The best is yet to come.
@reemasampat and I had the pleasure to sit down with @jet @Walmart offices for a panel discussion on minorities in media, in honor Asian Pacific Heritage Month.
Many of the attendees were young college-grads eager to hear more about the lessons, experiences, and challenges that come with pursuing creative, non-traditional careers.
A piece of advice we gave to the wide-eyed 22-year-olds was to “play the long game.” It’s advice I wish someone would have given me when I had just started in entertainment, when I’d put so much pressure on myself to accomplish big things before hitting 30.
Whether you are an actor or an entrepreneur, it’s tempting to chase quick wins - but it’s more meaningful to BUILD.
You’ll get a ton of “no’s” along your journey, and you might not be the best when you’re just starting out. After all, we are all beginners at some point.
Work steadily, focus on learning and growth, keep the big picture in mind. Those things, plus GRIT, will help you rise to the top.
It may not be overnight, but it will be lasting.
